May and it feels like winter!

Hey everyone, hope those of you that have taken the time to read our blog have enjoyed yourself reading just a few things about our super exciting life in Alberta's capital.
I got up this morning and after I had spent 2 hours (honestly) talking with my mom on the phone, I went out and thought i would BBQ myself a few hotdogs for lunch, and I honestly thought my toes were going to freeze off. It was so extremely cold, like 5 degrees. Got a call from a friend from back home, Rudy Janzen, and he invited us over for supper. Homemade waffles with homemade mennonite pudding, it was really good. I was telling Rudy that he would make a good housewife.

Next day...
Sunday was another busy day. As usual we went off to church. Pastor Shane continued speaking on his message series on prayer. I thought he had a few really interesting points, one that really stood out to me was that prayer was our invitation to God to be invloved with earths events. He went back to Genesis 1 where God created man and states that they are to be rulers over the animals, birds ... and that the would be rulers of the world. Therefore Shane was mentioning something along the lines that although God is all powerful and could do anything, he needs us to invite him to be a part of the goings on in the world. He also refered to Ezekiel where God mentions that He need someone to stand in the gap in prayer. I thought it was a pretty cool message, a bit confusing I think since I am having a bit of a hard time to explain it.

Anyway we were invited over to my cousin's for lunch after church. They just recently were blessed with twin girls, this was the first time that we had been able to go and see Jon and Sheri since they brought the girls home a few weeks ago. Jon and I went golfing in the afternoon, and had a real enjoyable time doing so. We had a prayer meeting in the evening, and I was leading worship again. We had a good sized group come out, which was really good to see.

Well the week looks to be pretty busy. I dont have school today (monday) and have only a few days of classes this week. I am doing my spanish oral exam on thursday and then we write the final on Friday. Bev and I are planning on going back to La Crete friday afternoon for just a super quick trip. We have not been back since January, so it will be good to be "home" for a few days.

Hope you all have a great week!
God bless,
Dale & Beverly
