Hola todos. I see that it has been a bit over a month since I last posted an update, so here I go.
As usual, Bev and I have been very busy. It seems that we are running on adrenaline or every now and then a little dose of caffiene provided by Starbucks. Just to let you know, Bev and I went out to Starbucks the other day and our bill was a bit over 10 bucks. INSANE!!! But they are soooo good. I can't imagine how people can afford to live if they have one or two of those every day, its worse than smoking! Anyway back to what I was saying. School is now moving forward in full force. I am finding it fairly difficult trying to stay on top of my school due to other commitments we have in our life, however time is flying by. I only have another month and a half until Christmas break. I am still trying to work twice a week, but on a few occasions I have not been able to. I have had a great opportunity through my spanish class to volunteer at Edmonton Hispanic Billingual Association. Honestly I don't do alot there but have been able to speak alot with some native speakers. It has definately helped me in my speaking skills, for which I am very excited about and grateful for. It is really cool to see that only a year ago I only knew very few select words/phrases in spanish, but now I can carry a converstation and express myself a bit in the language. If you could, pray that I woudl continue to make progress with the language and that it would be something that I could keep and use for the rest of my life.
Life at the church is going well as well. As I mentioned in the previous post, we have been helping with youth sponsorship in our church and are really enjoying getting to know the youth and hopefully being able to build into their lives. We are excited about taking them down to IGNITE in a few weeks time. It's a youth rally and promises to be a blast. We are also planning on taking the youth down to Juarez, Mexico in July of next year. Pray that God would place it upon the hearts of those whom He wants to go on this trip, and that the funds needed for this trip would be able to be raised in time. Dade, our youth pastor, took the youth down there two years ago and is excited to go again. We will be going with another youth group from Saskatchewan.
Recently we have been able to connect with some of our friends from back home as well. Bev had the privilige of going to an Oiler game with one of her better friends, Joanne, just a few weeks ago. Bev really enjoyed spending time with one of her bridesmaids, with whom she had not been able to spend much time with since our wedding. Dave and Jessica stayed over at our home a few days ago as they are on their way to Daytona Beach, Florida, where they are planning to live for a few years.
We are also excited about our living situation. We have found a new home to move into in Stony Plain and we will be moving in the new year.
Have a Great One!!
